Français 1A - Today we worked in groups of 3 on the "Au Café" Skit!

Homework:  Memorize your lines, Bring in Props for your café!   Ex. Tablecloth, bow-tie for the waiter, a food item such as a croissant

Français 3 -  Today we watched the "Nicolas a du travail" Video Module from Unit 2  and reviewed vocabulary for Household Chores.

Homework:   Vous avez le choix!
A.) Flashcards with drawing on the back side  (NO English!)
B.) 3X each in French, 3X each in English
This assignment will be due on Thursday.

Francais 1A - Menu Projects were collected today.  Today we learned about the Euro and prices on a menu.  Classwork was exercises 1 and 2 on page 54.

Homework: Wkbk pages 39 and 40 


Francais 3 -  Today we took a Dictee!  We finished the packet on Impressionists and finished class by describing a painting in French.

Homework:  Define Unite 2: Partie 1 Vocabulary and put it into notes.

Francais 1A - Today we went to the Library to work on Menu Projects.  Projects will be due on Monday.  They are being counted as a test grade.  Directions were handed out during class.   Here's a Link to Download a copy in case you lost it.  Menu Project Directions

Francais 3 - Today we took a vocabulary quiz for Le Conte pour enfants...   Homework: Finish "Le Monde des Arts" Fill-In  &  Print out 1 Painting from one of the French Artists for class tomorrow!


Did you know???  The Mona Lisa in France is called "La Joconde".   Why?  Because she was a young Florentine woman, Monna (or Mona, short for Madonna) Lisa, who in 1495 married the well-known figure, Francesco del Giocondo, and thus came to be known as "La Gioconda" (the Italian name for her) or in French "La Joconde."

So when you go to the Louvre.... don't ask for the Mona Lisa, but La Joconde!  ;)

Francais 1A -  Today we played the Illogique/Logique game for Food and Drinks.  Tomorrow we will be meeting in the LIBRARY (don't forget!)    Tonight's homework is Exercise 4 on page 51

Francais 3 - Today we recorded our parts from the short story with cell phones.  Tonight's homework is to DEFINE the words on your Vocabulary Sheet in French.

Francais 1A - Today we learned about Beverages and also had our Food and Color Quiz.  Tonight's homework is wkbk pages 31, 32, 35, and 36.

Francais 3:  Today we worked in groups and summarized the story "Conte pour enfants moins de trois ans."  Tonight's homework is to memorize your part!!  We will make recordings tomorrow.  Recordings will count as an oral quiz grade.   Attention: You will only be allowed to look at your vocabulary list while recording.

Francais 3 - Today we took the Unit 1 Test.  Tomorrow we will be reading Le Conte pour enfants de moins de trois ans.  Please answer the 8 Pre-Questions about your childhood from the worksheet handed out during class.

Francais 3 - Today was PSAT testing.  Block 3 didn't have class.  Block 7 watched a French film.  Tomorrow both classes will have the Unit 1 Vocabulary Test.  Etudiez!

Francais 1A - Today we took our Unit 1 Test.  Homework:  Finish "Le Drapeau" of a French speaking country

Francais 3 - Today we had an in-class writing day.  Homework: STUDY for the Unit 1 Vocabulary Test on Thursday - review all adjectives (to describe physical appearance), review all nouns (for objects to get ready in the morning), and all reflexive verbs.

Francais 1A -  Test has been MOVED to tomorrow.  Today we played review games with white boards.  Study tonight!  And print out the Online Test for an extra 2 points on the test tomorrow.

Francais 3-  In-class Essay has been MOVED to tomorrow.  Today we had a competition amongst teams to review.  Make a cheat sheet of 20 difficult vocabulary words and bring it to class tomorrow to use for the Essay.  Essays are counting as a quiz grade. 

*Tomorrow is a French Club meeting!   Remember, meetings have been moved to Tuesdays. All new members are always welcome.  :)

French 1A - homework: take the online Unit 1 practice test on class zone.com and print out the results.  Unit 1 test will be on Monday.

French 3- homework: make a 20 word cheat sheet using difficult words from Unit 1 Vocabulary. This sheet will be used during class on the in-class writing assignment on Monday.

Tuesday there will be a Unit 1 vocabulary test.

Francais 3 - Today we talked about feelings and sentiments.  Homework tonight is YOUR choice:

Write a 10 line conversation.

Choose one:
A.) A conversation between you and your friend on how you're feeling
B.) A conversation about a mutual friend.  You are both concerned that he/she may be angry, upset, etc.

This can be written just like we write out our skits in class.

Francais 1A - Homework for tonight is to complete Exercise 2 in your textbook on page 36.  Please make sure to write out the question and the answer.

Francais 3 - Today we worked in groups and read the Apartment Story on pages 46-47 in the textbook.  Comprehension questions were answered in groups.

Homework: Exercises 3 and 4 in the textbook on page 51.  Make it past tense w/ Reflexive Verbs.

Francais 1A -  This week is RESPECT week.  Block 1 decorated our door writing definitions in French of what Respect is....

Homework tonight is to fill out the "La Famille" chart with data from your family.  We will use these grids tomorrow during class in a speaking activity.  :) 


Francais 3 -   During class today, we watched a Video Scene de la famille Pasquier.  Corresponding packets were filled out while watching. 

(Lettres a Juliette were collected.  "Heroes and Cool Kids" should leave them in my mailbox.) 

Homework tonight is to complete workbook pages 19-22.  (Attention!  Please SKIP the very last section on page 22 "Les responsabilites")  All three pages must be completed to receive credit for a homework grade.

Francais 1A -  Today we learned about the family tree.  Homework: Study your numbers 0-100!!  (and 1.000) ; tomorrow we will have our number test.  

Block 2, 7th grade French - Number test will be Monday due to the assembly! 

*For an extra 2 points on the test, complete the study guide handed out during class.

Francais 3 -  Today we drew cartoons of Idiomatic Expressions in French and did our FLY SWATTER Game!   Winning team will receive 2 extra points on the quiz tomorrow.

Homework:  Study the 7 Idiomatic Expressions on page 39 and how to express body aches and pains.  Tomorrow's quiz will be translations from English to French.


*Don't forget....Extra credit will be given if you bake for the very first French Club Bake Sale tomorrow!

Français 1A - Today we learned all the way up to 1.000!!!!!  * Remember in France, decimal points are used in numbers where commas are used in America!  

We also had pronunciation practice and learned the following tongue-twister:

"Tiens!  Voila Alain.  Il est américain.  Et Julien?  Il est canadien."

Homework: Study numbers; make flashcards for 20 of the most difficult numbers to help you study; there will be a BIG number TEST on Friday 


Français 3 - Today we learned how to use an article with parts of the body.  Example: "What do you have in your hand?" becomes "Qu'est-ce que tu as dans la main?"  Look at page 38 for notes if you were absent.

Homework: Celebrity Project is due tomorrow and will be counted as a test grade.  Label a celebrity on a posterboard from head to toe using at least 20 of the new vocabulary words on textbook pages 36+37. 

*The French Club Bake Sale is THIS Friday!!!  Extra credit will be given to students who bake!

Francais 1A - Today we played Tic-Tac-Toe to review numbers 60-79.  We also learned the difference between Il s'appelle and Elle s'appelle and the different ways of saying "the".  

• Homework is Exercises 3+4 on pages 32+34 in the textbook.  Please write out the Question and the Answer for Exercise 3.  Also, numbers 3,4, and 5 on Exercise 4 are French celebrities.

Francais 3 - Today we reviewed Body Parts with a game of "Jacques dit".  Congrats to our winners!  We also described celebrities whose pictures were posted around the classroom.

• Homework: On a posterboard, post a celebrity and label Parts of the Body using 20 of the new Vocabulary words from pages 36-37.  This will be due on Thursday and counted as a Test grade.
